1933
Founded as Utica Plumbing by Elix Kravitz, the company is established to provide his children Lillian and Oscar with gainful employment during the Depression. A licensed plumber, Kravitz believed in the business and math prowess of his kids and lent them just enough assistance to get them going. Utica was built on retail business, as well as nipple manufacturing.
1957
Lillian Prosky buys out her brothers. Utica Plumbing's nipple factory ceases operations.
1961
Harvey Gottlieb (son-in-law to Lillian and Sol Prosky, married to Phyllis Prosky Gottlieb), comes to join the team.
1981
Harvey Brandner (son-in-law to Lillian and Sol Prosky, married to Sandra Prosky Brandner) comes to work at Utica.
2002
Eric and Josh Brandner (grandsons of Lillian and Sol Prosky) come to work at Utica, marking the fourth generation to carry on Utica Avenue Plumbing Supply.
2005
Utica expands warehouse and inventory to 15,000 square feet to respond to the demand of their customers.
2007
Utica renovates and upgrades office to streamline ordering and delivery process. Showroom expands to showcase newest lines of kitchen and bath fixtures.
2009
Utica Avenue Plumbing Supply launches new website as a product and informational resource for our customers.
